The dolphin experiance

So, for a little extra per person you can have a dolphin experiance. It was ok. I would say a once in a life time thing. K seemed to enjoy it, I think Will did too. We learned a lot about them. Kira got to make the dolphin make a farting noise, I think that was her favorite part. The most fun (for me) was riding the dolphin.

Here Will is riding Lester.

Alittle bit of Sea World

This is one ride everyone could go on....

Mostly, Mace was impressed by the sand.

I think this is the only time Mace even had all the snorkle garb on.

more discovery cove

Me with Lester.

Kira and Mason had a great time on the beach.

So, when you are there they give you sunscreen. However, it is REALLY thick, very hard to move once it is on you.

The sharks........

We're Baaaack! Discovery Cove!

We found a real jewel. If you are looking for some time with the dolphins, and rays....and I guess some sharks and baracutas. (?spelling). We drove to Orlando. It took us 2 days to drive, we had planned to meet up with my sis and her boyfriend at the Forbidden Gardens in Katy TX and then go to dinner together. Due to unforseen circumstances (I read travel time of 204 min instead of 240 minutes....) Anyway, we ended up meeting at a random resturaunt. The rest of the ride to Orlando went as planned.
Sunday night we arrived at the condo. I was RELEVED! It was nice. I wasn't sure what to expect. It was not new but it was nice. Location was perfect. Around the corner from Sea World and Discovery cove (littlerally!) Sunday night, Will's mom and dad flew in.
Monday, we went to Sea World. It rained off and on all day. It was still nice. We were able to see shows and animals ect.
Tuesday was my favorite day of the whole trip. It was Discovery Cove day. WWW.discoverycove.com
We arrived and checked in. Our "dolphin experiance" time was 12:20. I was a little worried that it would rain off and on all day, like yesterday. Luckily, the skies looked promising. I can't remeber what we did first after our little tour. I think we went into the coral reef area. It was cold. A nice steady 74 degrees (I think). I am not sure what was most overwhelming. The temp all the fish and huge stingrays in with you! When I say "huge" I mean from side to side was 5 ft. There were some smaller ones but the ones you most noticed were the big ones. I don't know the names of any other fish in there except barracuda and SHARKS. (Those were behind glass :)
This is Kira riding Lester. As part of the "dolphin experiance" we rode a dolphin for a short distance. It felt a lot like horseback riding, sort of jerky.

"Hi, Pete"

This was a stingray in the stingray area. On one side was the coral reef and the other was a much shallower area where you could walk in and pet the rays.

Deck!

The deck is Finally finished! (More or less. Monday the "Arbor guys" are comming back to put up the railing and more lattice work.) The railing will go along the front (paralell to the house.) There is a pretty good drop off from there. We can't wait to have parties out there! It is still going to be a little hot so we are probably going to add a fan and a misting system.

Fourth of July!

On the Fourth of July we went to the Round Rock parade. The rain held off until we got the kids buckled into their seats and then down it came. We the proceded to shop like mainiacs. We ended up buying a nintendo ds lite. (Faceing an 18hr ride in 2 weeks it seems like a good idea....we will see. ) Kira has a pokemon game (of course) Mace has a Mario game (he has played it while we were at the allergiests a few weeks ago and it really really good at it), oh and I am hooked on a game too..Tao. We are prepairing to learn spanish in the car, too.
Also, this weekend we trekked down to the trail. We took the kids and their bikes (without training wheels) and well, winged it. Will and I had a great work out! Kira rode her bike all by herself. And Mason, he tried.

Kira- ism

This weekend when we were leaving a friends house I said to Bill/Will, "I think Sam's hair is so much longer than mine, it sure is growing fast". He got really dramatic and started going on about how if I would "stop cutting mine" it might grow faster - he finished his dramatic rant with " ....and you must continue down the path of destruction!" Kira and Mace were in the back seat and Kira said ( with equal ammount of drama in her voice) "Mason let's pray to God."
Fortunately, I was not driving.

*******this just in************

Mark it on your calenders the world is ending soon. The concrete guys are a.) here (but not on time and b) hopefully will finish the patio project!! I will post pictures when its finished! Rain- stay away!

Just a random picture of Kira.

I wish my phone was working, yesterday we went to the Circus and I took some pretty funny shots of Kira. We were able to get 4th row seats! I was a little nervous about it being repetitive- we just went last year as well. It was compleetely different.

Kira is quite happy with her new dress. She is really turning into a girly-girl. I am not sure if that is good or bad but my poket book is starting to shutter.

Mason is a ham as always. I think he has said some pretty funny things recently - I just can't remember at the moment.

I am still getting used to the idea of Kira reading. I mean really reading, real books. I was cleaning out the closets and I had decided to get rid of a bunch of books, one was the Dr. Sears "The baby book". Anyway, I was making dinner and I heard Kira say, "Come on Mace sit down and I ll read you a baby book." Not realizing she meant THE BABY BOOK. (Check it out on Amazon its a great guide for labor ect.) Thankfully Mason turned her down and went upstairs to play. A few minutes later Kira was asking me "if it hurt when babies came out?" I turned around to look at her and saw THE BOOk! I was so shocked, all I could mumble was "only for a minute." I tried not to cringe as I thought of alll the questions that were likely to follow. Thankfully that was enough for her and she was talking aobut cats in no time. Our neighbors have a six year old boy who is VERY into the nature channel. His parents aren't so lucky with the questions......He pretty much has the whole thing figured out!

Wow these little guys are taking a beating and still keep on poping up!
We planted the sunflowers a few weeks before school ended.

Going on 2 weeks

For a 2 DAY project this is sure taking a long long time.
The arbor guys called Friday to say they would be out the next day to put the arbor up. Sadly, I had to tell them we weren't ready. :(
Hopefully, by the time we go on vacation our backyard can be "recovering". The grass has taken a beating, so has our sprinkler system...thats another story.
