VEGAS
The Vegas trip is finally here! I was a little nervous leaving today. But I know the kids are in good hands-I think I will be missed (& I will miss them -but it's only 4 days). We get to Dallas after about 3 hrs of driving.- We didn't get lost but saw an accident happen (that was really scarey). We hurry into the airport and get thru security only to find out our plane is delayed an hour (yea right). So we go and have dinner- seeing that everything is out ragiously priced we opt for the cheese cake. Funny thing though- we reached for the silverware and it was plastic!!!! I could not believe it. It looked SO real until you touch it.
We arrived in Vegas about an hour late (not bad). I think it was 8pm (Vegas time- 10pm our time.) We walked down to Dennys ate and played our lotto tickets...more in a minute.
In the morning, the first order of business was to go to STAR TREK the experiance. That was pretty neat. It's at the Hilton and a whole chunch of the bottom floor is devoted to it. You can go on a motion /interactive ride, go to quark's bar and the gift shop. There are some behind the scense tours you cango on too. We did the Borg ride.

ahhh, the lotto ticket. I thought it would be funny to buy a fake lotto ticket (winning $50,000) and have Christine scratch it off. On the way to Dallas I stoped at a gas station and bought 3 real tickets and put them in my wallet with the 4th a fake. When we got to the hotel room I gave each person a lotto ticket.... Well, Laura picket the fake ticket. You should have seen her when she scratched it off and $50k appeared 3xs! Here is a pick (my mom is in on it with me...only Laura and Chris have no clue...)

Mom's bag
Another finished project. This one I started a bit late and finished much quicker than I thought. Amy Butler pattern "weekender bag". Quite a bit harder than other Amy Buter projects. I broke 6 needles (no exageration) while sewing one side of the bag! Then I had to hand stich the lining to the bag. Not sure if I will attempt this bag again.....anyway, hope my mom likes it....(Check out how the side panel and front come together-I wish I could say that was planned)
